Design of laptops and notebooks has changed over the course of years in an attempt to make it as easy to use and comfortable as possible. Sure enough, transition from PC to laptop can take a bit of getting used to, especially when relying on the touchpad and not using a USB mouse. To help out, CenterClick makes it possible to emulate the middle mouse button on any laptop.
It comes in a lightweight package, with no installation required to enable functionality. This allows it to be stored on a thumb drive, and used directly from one, without having an impact on stability, because registry entries are not modified in the process.
Note that some laptop models come with workarounds for this issue, such as pressing both the left, and right touchpad buttons at the same time. It’s best to research the make and model for any default hotkeys, but not all support this option.
When launched it quietly sits in the tray area, without any window, or options to configure. The function is instantly activated, and pressing the “m” button on the keyboard now acts as the middle mouse button. It’s best to either suspend, or pause the script when writing, and this can be done from the corresponding tray icon.
