Change Icon

Change Icon is an application that offers users a very fast solution for changing the icon of a folder.
Once you launch the program, Change Icon requires you to select the target folder and pick a new icon, all through a plain and simple GUI.
It's almost impossible to get lost in the program's interface and it's all very user-friendly, mostly because the application doesn't assault users with unnecessary features.
Instead, it only asks you to choose an icon library or use the default one, pick any of the displayed icons and hit the “Apply” button to save the changes.
An icon preview is also available, and so is a “Rebuilt” utility to repair corrupted icons.
What's more, Change Icon allows you to input the infotip text that appears whenever a user moves the cursor over the selected folder.
Change Icon doesn't require administrator privileges if you're not editing a system-protected folder and runs smoothly on all Windows versions released so far. No significant slowdown was experienced during our testing.
As a conclusion, Change Icon is indeed a helpful product if you wish to bring your very own touch to the way locally-stored folders look.
It does lack some important features however, including an icon library manager to download new icon packs from the Internet. The good thing however is that it's very easy to use, even if a help manual isn't included in the package.
