Change MAC Address

Change MAC Address is a basic Windows software solution designed to change the MAC address of any network adapter installed on your computer.
The market is already full of similar products, but Change MAC Address struggles to set itself apart with the help of what can be very well considered a minimal interface and intuitive options.
Rookies aren’t clearly the ones targeted by this application, but even so, Change MAC Address remains a very easy to use tool with all settings displayed right in the main window.
The program automatically scans your system and detects the installed network adapters, letting you pick any of them for a quick configuration.
It shows network information, such as IP address, netmask and gateway, but also the current and the real MAC address, with a dedicated field to let you input the new one.
One of the good things about Change MAC Address is the fact that it comprises a “Reset” function to restore the original settings automatically. On the other hand, you can’t save specific MAC profiles, so you have no other option than to input them manually every time. It does save however a list of the most recently used MAC addresses.
A help file isn’t available, but as you can see, everything’s a breeze, which means that you don’t really need one. Administrator privileges are needed to use the program on Windows 7 workstations.
Which leads us to a rather simple conclusion: Change MAC Address does its job easily, but there are a lot of similar apps out there doing exactly the same thing. It adopts a straightforward approach however and doesn’t affect system performance at all.
