With the large amount of work we have nowadays, it's hard to relax and enjoy a free day with your friends, especially for holidays. Most people work during such events, and to at least bring a jolly atmosphere to their screen, and estimate the remaining time to the next New Year, the Christmas Tree widget may be a nice solution.

Move the app anywhere on the monitor

Its setup is swift, all you have to do is press a few "Next" buttons, and you can start it immediately, to see if it fits your needs. The interface is simple and can blend nicely with the environment. The context menu is brought up by right-clicking on the tree.  It's also accessible for both novices and professionals.
Christmas Tree can be moved to any location within the monitor, and locked to that specific position, on top of other apps. Plus, you have the option to show/hide the widget, and download more interactive tools from the developer's website.

Select the skin and sound that suits you the best

Unfortunately, the utility hasn't been updated for quite a while, as the displayed dates are outdated, and can't be synced with the system default clock and calendar. The only purpose is to beautifully decorate your desktop with various stunning skins, which you can pick from the menu. Among the choices are the tree, snow, ball, neon, nice, or socks.
For an even more realistic ambiance,  the tool offers the option to enable the sounds, that comes with three distinct styles, chime, jingle-bells and notify. Sadly, the music can't be personalized with custom sounds, to fully personalize the widget. In addition, you are able to change the font color, type, and size, and disable optional settings.

Taking everything into account, Christmas Tree is an entertaining and approachable desktop enhancement that comes in different styles, with a countdown to the next event, and customizable text. A plus is the fact it pleasantly decorates your screen and brings a relaxing and warm atmosphere.
