Collect Email Description
E-mail address lists can be very valuable, but creating one is not that easy without the right tool at your disposal. What you need is a web crawler that can browse multiple pages quickly and extract any addresses it comes across.
Collect Email is a simple utility that can get the job done without complicating matters. It is suitable for those who need to retrieve e-mails from a certain domain, but it offers a rather limited set of features.
Easy-to-use app that requires minimal configuration
Once installed, you can start the application and begin searching for e-mails almost immediately. You only need to provide the domain the search should start from, as the program can take care of the rest.
Of course, there are some advanced settings that can also be altered. You can select the crawling engine that should be used, enable or disable recursive scanning and have the application ignore certain extensions or URLs.
Cannot filter false e-mail addresses
For some domains, Collect Email may do the job just file, provided that the e-mail addresses are stored in an easily accessible manner. However, we found that, in some cases, the list generated by the app included many irrelevant entries that would have to be deleted manually.
While it is possible to exclude a list of extensions and URLs from the scan, the application doesn’t do a very good job of filtering entries that, despite having similar formatting, are not actually e-mail addresses.
Lightweight e-mail extractor that could use some improvements
To sum things up, Collect Email may be a good choice for you, but you would do well to test it out and make sure it can accurately extract e-mail addresses from the websites you are interested in.
The apps is not at all difficult to use, so even novices should be able to get the hang of things fairly quickly. However, it should still be noted that no documentation is available.
