Collie HTML Viewer Description
Collie HTML Viewer is a simple-to-use application designed to help you open and view content of not only HTML webpages but also HTM, TXT, GIF, BMP, JPG and JPEG files. It features a couple of intuitive options that can be figured out quickly, even by users with no previous experience in such tools.
Doesn't require installation
There is no setup pack involved. Instead, you can drop the downloaded files to a custom directory on the disk or copy them to a pen drive to seamlessly launch Collie HTML Viewer on any PC with as little effort as possible. It doesn't update the system registry with new entries or generate new files on the disk without your approval.
Find and open text and image files
At startup, you're greeted by a standard file browser you can use to locate and open a file. Text and images can be only viewed, since there are no editing features implemented by this piece of software.
It's possible to wrap words, configure font settings (type, style, size, effects, color, script), stretch images or view their actual size, or go to the next or previous file in the current directory. Moreover, you can jump to any file in the folder by opening a menu to view all entries, open files in an external program, visit their location in Windows Explorer, and exclude any supported file formats.
Evaluation and conclusion
We haven't come across any stability issues in our tests, thanks to the fact that the software application didn't hang, crash or indicate errors. It left a small footprint on system resources, consuming a low quantity of memory and CPU.
Although it hasn't been updated for a long time, Collie HTML Viewer didn't have any compatibility issues with newer Windows editions in our tests. On the other hand, it has a rudimentary-looking interface and poor set of options for viewing text and image files.
