Busy PC users know how difficult it is to track down files that are scattered all over the computer. To efficiently organize your time, you can resort to a desktop search tool that's capable of finding files instantly. This is possible via indexing.

Such an example is Conjure, a small-sized utility that gets integrated into the systray while it's not busy looking for files, in order to stay out of your way while you tend to important activities.
There's nothing worth mentioning about installation, since it gets carried out quickly and painlessly. However, make sure that you have .NET Framework because it depends on this platform and cannot work without it.

Look up files and folders in the indexed locations

Once fired up, Conjure creates an icon in the taskbar notifications area and quietly monitors your files, adding new or modified ones to its index, so that it can rapidly reveal them at your will.
By default, the items from your libraries, desktop, Start Menu and downloads are included, along with bookmarks saved in Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer.

Include or exclude custom folders

However, any of these locations can be excluded from the configuration panel, which can be accessed from the right-click menu of the tray icon.
Moreover, you can throw in custom directories into the index as well as exclude any unnecessary folders to narrow down search results.

Trigger a hotkey to use the search tool

By default, Conjure's search bar can be brought up to the screen by pressing Ctrl+Space. It's semi-transparent and invites you to type the whole or partial name of a file or folder to look up.
Results show the full path to each item, file type, and date of last modification. If you close the bar while it's still opened with the results, you can view it again the next time you type Ctrl+Space (if you don't exit Conjure in the meantime).

Customize the search bar's appearance

The hotkey can be swapped for any other key combination. Moreover, you can limit the number of results displayed (ranging from 1 to 20) as well as adjust the search bar's opacity, width and color.
We haven't encountered any stability issues with Windows 10 in our tests. Conjure delivered search results quickly and accurately as promised. Thanks to its intuitive set of options, it can be used by anyone.
