Although a mere concept we created to guide our existence, everything is closely tied to time. This ranges between all types of activities, including cooking, because you don’t want your meal under, or overdone. As such, CookingTimer comes with the means to help time activities in the kitchen to get a meal just right.

Straightforward, and easy to use

Setup doesn’t take more than a few seconds, so you’re able to take the program for a spin sooner than you realize. All it has to offer is found in a pretty intuitive design, posing no accommodation problems, regardless of experience. There’s also a handful of tips to quickly get you up and running in case you can’t really figure out what values and fields are used for.
The application comes with two functions to help you out. On the one hand, there’s the built-in counter, which is either used in hours or minutes. Each type has it’s own drop-down menus for easy selection of values, but you’re free to manually provide input time in either minutes or hours.

Audio alerts and built-in notepad

Starting the counter shows elapsed and remaining time in the titlebar. Note that the counter continues on even when the preset value expires, letting you know through color differentiation of the process, and appropriate text tags. Different chimes can be used as audio alerts whenever the specified time is reached.
The other component is a built-in notepad. This comes in handy for taking notes along the way, or even have the entire recipe in plain sight. Sadly, import and export options aren’t implemented, but you can edit a generic TXT file in the application's source folder to always have a default text show up.
