And unlike the keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+Shift+V), you can even customize how it will copy & paste. Its functions include Trimming space around text, Removing extra spaces, Removing extra empty lines.

Copy As Plain Text works with numerous applications such as Firefox, Thunderbird, SeaMonkey, works with Auto Copy Plus. Its uses key-combo Ctrl+Shift+C. Alternatively, you can use the right-click-menu and choose "Copy As Plain Text".
