CopyWrite-Asia

CopyWrite-Asia teaches handwritten language scripts that are best presented in grid format. It can be used wherever languages are taught - for small children with first languages and older children and adults for second languages.

CopyWrite-Asia can help teach literally any written script in the world! If you can write the script, CopyWrite-Asia can replay the characters and record student responses for you. CopyWrite-Asia is impervious to stroke order, writing direction and layout. CopyWrite-Asia can handle connected or unconnected characters. Example scripts are: Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Arabic, Hebrew, Russian, Turkish, Vietnamese and Indian scripts amongst others. CopyWrite-Asia comes complete with 9 keyboards containing 400 Kanji, Katakana and Hiragana (a typical Japanese school syllabus). A companion application "CopyWrite" is available to teach scripts that are best written in a horizontal line, for example English and European scripts. Details are below.

Download the demonstration version from this page. Try it out. This unregistered version has all the functions of the registered version, but will quit every 5 minutes. If you like CopyWrite-Asia, click on 'buy' on this page and pay the purchase price ($US29.95). Revelation Computing Pty Limited will then email you a small .pdb file to download to your Palmtm handheld, based on the username you supplied when you paid. Once this .pdb file has been successfully installed on your Palmtm handheld, CopyWrite-Asia's "unregistered" message should go away. Remember we are in Australia so allow a day or two for the email to reach you. (We may be asleep).

CopyWrite-Asia Features:
The screen is divided into two areas: The 'Blackboard' at the top is for the teacher to enter letters, the 'whiteboard' at the bottom is where students write. Characters are animated continuously at the top of the screen in correct stroke order CopyWrite-Asia uses a calligraphic pen for drawing Up to 20 exercises can be stored per class. Button to clear ALL work from your handheld or can leave teacher's exercises intact Special option to suit left or right handed students Characters can be drawn by hand or typed from up to 9 keyboards if available. If not available, why not work with us to create a set for the particular script you are teaching? Hide or show complete exercise. Reveal one character at a time or progressive build. Advance automatically or manually to suit student Four replay speeds available including 'Realistic' (uses timing when letter was drawn) Five layouts are available, including grids containing 3, 10 or 24 characters. By turning handheld on its side, you can also use two or three vertical columns. Or screen can be completely blank Literally anything can be drawn as 'characters' eg simple pictograms. Whilst characters are modelled at the top of the screen, students simultaneously draw characters at bottom of screen Instant replay of student's work always available Up to 35 students work can be stored by name. CopyWrite-Asia should run on all handhelds using PalmOS® 2.0 or later. (ie back to the PalmPilot Personal) CopyWrite will also run on colour handhelds.
