Coypu Description
Coypu is a bare-bones yet modern-looking piece of software that allows you to better organize and plan your weekly activities within a simple user interface, using either a Windows PC or a Mac.
The app can be deployed on your computer without the need for your intervention thanks to an automated installer. Right off the bat, we must tell you not to set your expectations too high since "basic"Â is the word that best describes this app.
One of the simplest weekly planners out there, at least for now
The application displays a weekly calendar and allows you to add to-do tasks on each one of these days, and that's kind of about it. The workflow is as simple as they come and if you have ever worked with even the most simplistic text editors, then you should have no problem working with this app.
Just add a task, press Enter to add a new one, toggle between already existing tasks using the arrow keys and, as expected, use the backspace button to erase any unnecessary entry. To mark a task as completed, just click its associated bullet or use the Tab key.
Things we can expect from Coypu in the future
At the time of which this review was written, the app was still in its infancy. You should expect new features to find their way into Coypu along with other various improvements.
For example, the development team plans on releasing mobile versions (iOS and Android) of Coypu and on offering support for a wider array of calendar formats and languages. You can also expect hour-specific and repeatable tasks and, even better, the possibility to add notes to your tasks.
Simple, Electron-based weekly planner
To conclude, Coypu is a modern application that still has a long way to go until it becomes a valid alternative to other, more powerful apps of this sort. Without a doubt, launching the mobile version is the foremost and most important step towards achieving that goal, but other out-of-the-box features should play a major role as well.
