CPU Usage Rate Decrease/Reduction Tool Description
Computer technology seems to be advancing at an ever increasing rate, so it is not uncommon to find that your relatively new PC is unable to handle resource-hungry applications. While a hardware upgrade is usually the best solution, certain software utilities might provide some assistance as well.
CPU Usage Rate Decrease/Reduction Tool is a simple program designed to reduce the CPU usage of various active processes. However, while it did seem to have an effect on resource usage during our tests, no information is provided about the optimization methods and their possible side effects.
Straightforward utility for reducing CPU usage
There is nothing particularly complex about working with CPU Usage Rate Decrease/Reduction Tool, but is should be noted that the application needs to be launched in Administrator mode if you want to view all the active processes.
The program displays the names of all detected processes, along with their PID and local path. However, their CPU usage is not shown, a parameter that would certainly have been useful. You can sort the entries based on their name, ID, status and path.
Offers two optimization modes, but no additional information
Once you have located a process that is using too much CPU power, you can specify how much you wish to decrease its resource usage (from 10 to 50 percent) and select one of the two reduction methods.
Unfortunately, while we did notice a decrease in CPU usage during our tests, the program does not provide any details about the operations it performs to achieve this result. There is no way of knowing which of the two methods is suitable for various scenarios and whether or not the responsiveness or stability of the targeted processes are affected.
Simple optimization tool that lacks documentation
To conclude, CPU Usage Rate Decrease/Reduction Tool could very well prove to be a handy utility for those who wish to reduce the CPU usage of certain processes, but it does not provide any information about the methods employed to decrease resource consumption.
