Cresotech PhotoPoint

One of the manners in which you can easily showcase your photos is to create presentations from them, and one of the applications that can help you easily do that is Cresotech PhotoPoint.

Simple interface

The application comes with a very simple, outdated interface, designed to help you browse for files and folders on your hard drive, and to start a presentation of the photos included in one of your directories.
You can navigate to the desired folder with the help of the file explorer located at the bottom of the tool's main window, which also provides you with a list of the images inside it. Selecting any of the images there automatically displays them in the utility's main window.

Add effects to your presentations

The program comes with support for a series of transition effects, and allows you to apply the same effect to all photos, or opt for random transitions for each of them.
You can also add audio to your presentations, and the application allows you to select any of the songs you want from your hard drive. Moreover, it can be set to play the music from a CD, provided that one is inserted, and offers track-controls during presentations, via right click.

Increased resources usage

During our testing, we noticed that the application consumes a large amount of computer resources, and that it can sometimes become unresponsive due to that. In fact, we had to force-close it a couple of times as it kept playing the background music even after closing a presentation.
We also noticed that the tool has issues recognizing the screen resolution. It requires you to set the desired screen resolutions and plays the presentations in full screen, which can become an issue if the wrong resolution has been set.

Outdated tool

All in all, Cresotech PhotoPoint is a rather easy-to-use program for the creation of photo slideshows, though features outdated looks and consumes a lot of resources when running. You might run into issues when it comes to playing presentations with this tool, though you can take advantage of various transition effects, and you can also set it to play the music you like.
