D-Link DCS-5300 Camera Installation Wizard

Surveillance cameras might not be as easy to set up for beginners as it is for tech-savvy users. Although such devices usually come packaged along with detailed installation instructions, it is much easier and comfortable to have a software application do all the work for you.
D-Link DCS-5300 Camera Installation Wizard is such an utility, designed to guide you through all the necessary steps for getting the camera ready to use.
While the D-Link DCS-5300 network surveillance device is no longer produced by D-Link and has been discontinued back in 2011, this application can still serve its purpose for those who already own such a camera or second-hand buyers.
Once it is launched, the program proceeds to scanning your network for connected cameras and displays a list of all the identified devices within its main window. You can view the MAC address, alongside the IP address, assigned ports and the camera model.
In case your hardware device is not detected automatically, you have the option to add it to the list manually. In this case, you are prompted to enter the corresponding IP address and the assigned port number.
The main window includes options for setting up the camera, linking to the selected device and upgrading the firmware. In case you are not satisfied with the modifications, you can always use the 'Reset to default' function to revert the changes.
