Data Doctor-Audio Splitter Description
As the name of this software implies, Data Doctor Audio Splitter allows you to cut audio tracks into smaller pieces. It supports the MP3, MP2, WAV and WMA formats and can be easily used by individuals of any experience level.
The interface of the application is plain and simple to work with. Audio tracks can be imported by using the file browser only, because the "drag and drop" method is not supported. Batch processing is not allowed.
So, you can read the input and output path, start, end, current and total time, as well as preview tracks in a built-in media player and split them by marking the start and end time. Plus, you can preview the selection. All you have to do is specify the output destination and filename, in order to initiate the encoding job.
The audio processing program requires a low-to-moderate amount of system resources, has a good response time, quickly finishes a task and manages to preserve the original sound quality. We haven't encountered any difficulties during our tests. You can also check out a well-written help file with snapshots.
On the other hand, you cannot speed up the file splitting process by navigating back and forth the track to mark the start and end position. Plus, we had expected additional audio cutting methods (e.g. into equal-sized parts). Moreover, you cannot change program settings (e.g. enable Data Doctor Audio Splitter to minimize to the system tray). We recommend this software with reservations.
