dbExpress driver for Oracle Description
Users who perform their work using the Delphi and C++ Builder programming languages could require a platform that would grant them access to external databases such as Oracle. dbExpress driver for Oracle was developed as a database-independent layer that consists of a common interface that can allow quick access to the Oracle platform from the above mentioned programming environments.
When accessing the Oracle server, its core feature – a driver comprised of an independent library, implements query processing and storage procedures. Being easy to deploy and offering increased database connectivity, the data-access layer is quite straightforward and lightweight.
People will be able to establish a connection to the Oracle database through a native data access protocol or direct access to the database. The applications that are based on this driver do not require an installation of other data providing layers. Therefore, users will have access to a faster connectivity than the one offered through standard Delphi connections.
Some of the supported IDEs that one can use in order to develop applications using this driver are: Embarcadero RAD Studio, Delphi, C++Builder or Firemonkey. Furthermore, this driver will allow users’ applications to work directly via a TCP/IP connectivity protocol, therefore eliminating the need for a dedicated Oracle Client.
By using this driver, people will be able to achieve better results in terms of data access layers, as it employs several advanced data access algorithms that will optimize data access “on-the-flyâ€.System requirementsOracle software installed on client side to access through OCI.
