DCrypt

Written in Delphi, DCrypt is a tiny application that enables you to input text and hexadecimal code, as well as to decryt hex. It doesn't require installation and features just a few options.

Portability benefits

Since there is no installer, you can drop the app's executable file in a custom location on the disk and just click it to run, as well as copy it to a pen drive or other mass storage device to launch it on any PC with minimum effort. Plus, it doesn't alter Windows registry settings.

Easily encrypt text or hex code

The interface is represented by a normal window with a plain and simple structure that shows all available options. You can write or paste text or hexadecimal code in the upper part of the screen, and encrypt or decrypt it easily to view results on the bottom.
The tool lets you establish a key and number of turns to apply it for encryption, along with a DES password. Apart from the fact that you can swap the input and output with one click, there are no other notable options available here.

Evaluation and conclusion

As expected, the tool didn't put a strain on the overall performance of the computer in our tests, thanks to the fact that it needed low CPU and memory to work properly. It carried out encryption and decryption jobs swiftly and didn't freeze, crash or show error dialogs.
Although it doesn't come bundled with comprehensive options or configuration parameters, DCrypt offers a simple solution to encrypting and decrypting text and hexadecimal code.
