DE Launcher Description
Windows wants to make it easy to launch all of your programs of interest, letting you pin shortcuts to the taskbar, Start Menu, or simply on the desktop. You’re most likely aware of the abundance of alternative ways to run programs, which is the core purpose of DE Launcher, coming with various customization options.
Add various item types to the launch bar
You get the chance to see what the application is all about from the moment setup is over, with the last step offering to launch it for you. An empty toolbar shows up at the top of the screen, but don’t worry, adding new items is pretty easy. This is all possible inside the preferences panel which you bring up from the context menu.
Multiple item types can be added, and not just shortcuts to programs. You pick the type from a drop-down menu, with elements for file, folder, URL, separator, and more options, thus allowing a great deal of customization. A title needs to be provided, while additional options can be configured to run via hotkey command, delay run, and add command line options.
Customization and additional tools
The launch bar itself usually stays at the top of the screen, but you can move it to bottom. It stays on top of every other window, with related options to toggle this state, and even to automatically hide when not directly used.
The application offers some extra tools as well. These show up in predefined locations on the launch bar if enabled, and account for a calculator, command line tool, key state, clock, uptime, as well as info on username and IP.
A few last words
Taking everything into consideration, we can state that DE Launcher is a nifty tool you can use to keep the desktop a free space, but still be able to launch just about anything of interest with the press of a button.
