Browser extensions are nifty little products that can improve the web navigation experience. Their functionality is generally limited to a single task that is accomplished efficiently in most cases.
Deduplicate-tabs does not assume other functionality than the one suggested by its name. The add-on is designed to work with Mozilla Firefox and to remove any duplicates in the tab bar.
The effect is less clutter, which should lead to increased productivity when working with the web browser.

No browser restart, no settings to toy with

Many Firefox extensions ask for a browser restart in order to install properly, but in the case of Deduplicate-tabs this action is not necessary and the procedure completes seamlessly.
There is no interface available for the add-on and there are no settings to tinker with. It simply functions out of the box and does its job with no user intervention whatsoever.

Non-intrusive alert

Deduplicate-tabs funtions by monitoring the URL addresses in the tab bar and becomes active when a duplicate tab occurs. Until this happens it does not manifest in any way and the user has no clue that it is available in the browser.
When duplicates are detected it should automatically show a button in the lower part of the browser wind0w, allowing the user to eliminate the doubles.
However, the extension may not function properly in all instances, as it happened to us during evaluation. It worked at the beginning but after a while it stopped alerting of the existence of duplicate tabs.

Conclusion

Deduplicate-tabs serves as a tab de-clutter utility and it isn’t noticeable until it has to deliver alerts. As a warning, the add-on may not work with all versions of Mozilla Firefox.
