Delete Tree Description
Delete Tree is a command-line application designed to help you remove directories with all subdirectories and files. It addresses users with some minimal experience in console-based utilities.
Doesn't require installation
The entire package is wrapped in an executable file. You can copy it to a preferred location on the HDD or even on a removable storage unit if you want to fire up Delete Tree on any computer without setup.
There are no software dependencies involved, and administrative rights aren't necessary. No new entries are added to the system registry.
Delete folders, with or without subfolders
To use Delete Tree, open a Command Prompt window, go to its location on the disk, then type its name and hit Enter to call its process. The syntax is DelTree [Path] [Options], where [path] represents the full path to the directory you want to delete.
Set command-line options
As far as the options are concerned, you can prevent the tool from showing status messages on deletion (/Silent), displaying prompts to confirm file deletion (/Y) and deleting subdirectories with files (/NotRecursive).
Also, you can delete the root directory of the specified path (/DelRoot). Once the removal procedure is over, the utility displays the file name and extension of each item.
No compatibility issues with Windows 10
Deletion jobs were carried out rapidly in our tests, during which Delete Tree remained light on system resources consumption. Although it hasn't been updated for a while, Delete Tree worked smoothly on Windows 10 in our tests and we didn't have to turn to the OS compatibility troubleshooter.
Simple command-line tool for deleting whole folder structures
All aspects considered, Delete Tree offers a simple solution for helping users remove entire directory structured from the console environment with minimal effort. It's dedicated to those who prefer the CLI to the graphical interface.
