Desk & Archive Portable

Desk & Archive is a file manager designed to facilitate the work with documents. Many users are already aware that the easiest way to track unfinished work is to keep unfinished documents in one place. That way every document is a reminder of an uncompleted task associated with it.Desk & Archive has tools for using this system in a convenient way. It automatically finds better place for shortcuts to folders (presenting them as pinned folders to Sidebar) and shortcuts to applications (showing them in Launch bar). Bookmarks and Templates are great tools for accessing important items in much more convenient way than if they were on desktop, thus removing the need to keep them mixed with unfinished documents.

Desk is a flexible solution that may show content from different folders, and if properly customized it should easily capture all new documents to ensure that they always get completed. This flexibility may be used to claim that folder in Dropbox is your desktop, or to include My documents folder without its subfolders, as most applications save new items there by default. In every case, it takes one click to move completed items into predefined folders.

Desk & Archive puts a lot of attention to details to enhance everyday productivity even further: there are tabs to clean clutter from the users taskbar; an automatic opening and closing of tabs which takes these tasks away from the user and increases availability of locations he might need; a preview of contents on an item tile with an active preview of folders which allows opening of their items directly from the preview; a smart sorting, which chooses the best sort type based on the content; ad-hoc items lists which to open several folders at once; one click on Look Through Subfolders shows all items in all subfolders; notifications are convenient, unobtrusive with suggestion how to solve the problem; multiple selection is easy with checkboxes; improved interaction with keyboard and mouse.
