DeskHedron

DeskHedron is a tiny and portable software application that allows you to create multiple virtual desktops and easily switch through them in a 3D environment, in order to tidy up your workspace.
It's accessible from the system tray area and doesn't contain any kind of settings, so it can be handled even by users with little or no experience in such tools.

No setup necessary, apart from DirectX

As long as you have DirectX installed on the PC (required for the 3D animation), you don't need to set up anything else. You can drop DeskHedron's executable file anywhere on the disk and just click it to run, and even save it to a removable storage unit to immediately launch it on any computer effortlessly. It doesn't modify the Windows registry configuration.

System tray accessibility

As previously mentioned, the utility can be accessed from the taskbar notifications area once it's launched. By default, it creates only one virtual desktop, but you can set up as many as you want.
Clicking the tray icon triggers DeskHedron's 3D animation and enables you to switch through the virtual desktops using either the mouse scrollwheel or arrow keys. This is also possible by opening the icon's right click menu to go to the previous or next desktop. There are no other notable options available here.

Evaluation and conclusion

The program didn't affect the overall performance of the machine during our testing, since it needed low CPU and memory to function normally. No error dialogs popped up and it didn't freeze or crash. To sum it up, DeskHedron provides you with a simple and entertaining method of managing multiple virtual desktops.
