Desktop Restore Description
Managing desktop items and their placement on the screen may seem of lesser importance to some users, but there are many who organize their desktop in a particular manner, like, for example, to make some programs more easy to open, or even group similar application icons to avoid going through the Start Menu in order to open those apps.
In case something goes wrong and the layout is messed up, it may take a while to restore the order and bring everything as it was originally. To avoid those moments of annoyance there are some programs you can use to set things straight more efficiently and one of them goes by the name of Desktop Restore.
Especially designed to alleviate the desktop icon misplacement, this tool functions in a special way. It is not your regular type of utility that comes with its own interface, instead Desktop Restore integrates with the operating system and works like a shell extension.
As soon as you install it onto your computer, you will get some additions to the desktop right-click menu. Thus, you will be able to save the desktop, restore it or perform a custom save or restore job by simply selecting the appropriate command.
The first two operations are carried out without needing any configurations, but if you feel like adding a personal touch to the processes, you should go for the custom ones. This way, you can give a different name to the layouts, store as many of them as you want to a folder of your choosing and restore the one you need from there.
To conclude, its safe to say that with Desktop Restore you can always have your preferred icon placement back and this tool even gives you the opportunity of creating several such layouts which will be readily restored in case you need them.
