Directory Lister 19 Description
Directory Lister 19 is a small software application designed specifically for helping you list directory structures. The program is able to generate a plain text file with all your target folders and files found in a user-defined location.
Drop it on pen drives
You can store the utility on USB flash drives or other portable devices so you can have it with you all the time. Double-clicking on the executable file is all you need to do in order to gain access to the GUI.
It’s easy to get rid of Directory Lister in case you no longer need it because it does not leave registry entries and configuration files in your computer. A simple deletion task of the EXE file is sufficient.
Straightforward design
Directory Lister 19 makes it easy for you to configure the dedicated parameters because it integrates them all into a single window. A help manual is not included in the package but some hints about the tool’s main capabilities are displayed directly in the GUI.
Listing options
The application offers you the possibility to specify the target directory and choose the output location where the plain text file with the results is saved.
You may customize the listing process by making the program include subdirectories, files included in subfolders, files, full path for directories, full path for files, and top level directory.
Other important configuration settings worth being mentioned enable you to enter the number of spaces for indentation, set the maximum depth of the folder, specify a prefix and suffix applied to files and directories, as well as include all extensions or only user-defined ones (e.g. JPG, TXT, DOC, MP4, AVI). In addition, you may create a list with extensions that are excluded from the listing process.
Tests have pointed out that Directory Lister 19 carries out a task quickly and without errors. It does not eat up a lot of CPU and memory resources so the overall performance of the computer is not hampered.
Final observations
All things considered, Directory Lister 19 provides a straightforward, fast, and efficient software solution for helping you automatically get lists with files and folders included in a custom location, and can be configured by rookies and professionals alike.
