DOSPrinter is an intuitive software solution that enables you to automate the batch file printing, from DOS to a series of devices, including USB, network or virtual printers. The software is easy to use and allows you to configure several printing jobs, as well as set general printing options and control sequences.

Printing assistant for DOS programs

DOSPrinter is designed to help you configure the printing tasks for DOS programs and to run them in an easy way. Some DOS programs might encounter errors when printing to certain devices, in particular those devices designed for Windows. Additionally, some difficulties might be encountered when using printers connected via USB port, multi-functional devices or those that do not feature the proper code page.
DOSPrinter can help you overcome these issues and automate the batch file printing process, even with DOS programs. It is easy to use and allows you to schedule several printing tasks. You may easily create a printing job, by specifying the source folder, the file type filter, appropriate code page or control codes. You may specify the number of copies per each document, the printing device, page orientation, paper format or feeder.
Alternatively, you may create a task for direct printing from DOS programs, using the capture print port. The software allows you to setup LPT1, LPT2 or LPT3 ports. This option can be activated from the 'Print' tab, in the DOSPrinter Settings window.

Convenience settings and PDF printing

DOSPrinter allows you to monitor the progress of each printing task, as well as to set general options or control sequences. You may also enable/disable the external printing via PRNFILE.EXE command and set the application’s priority to higher, if convenient.
The software can also handle PDFs, by sending the specific tasks to a specialized device or the DOSPrinter built-in printer. Moreover, it can automate the digital signing of PDFs, by assigning a certificate file to it.
The control sequences are defined by a numeric code, character and short description. They are specific to each type of printer, namely Epson, HP or the PDF printing device.
