DP VideoConvert Description
Video files can come under different formats, each using their own compression parameters to store and deliver quality. Not all editing applications or services support the entire variety of formats. On the bright side of things, there are various third-party applications like DP VideoConvert which can help bypass these inconveniences.
Decent file support, and options for several media devices
There’s no setup involved, so you can see what the application is all about right after download is done. What’s more, you can store it on a thumb drive in case you want to use it on other computers besides your own. Registry entries are not altered, so the health status of the target PC remains intact as well.
Its core function is to help convert video files. Support isn’t really abundant, but it can handle some of the most common file formats, such as MP4, MPEG, 3GP, VOB, and several other. These are available for both import and export, but it’s also possible to save under specialized formats for various media devices, such as iPads, PSP, and more.
Set audio and video output quality
The application allows you to convert multiple files at a time. Adding them is done through the browse dialogs, without support for dropping them over the window. Unfortunately, there’s no set of playback controls, or preview section to get a sneak peek at content.
In terms of quality settings, you’re free to specify a different output resolution than the default configuration. Audio can be adjusted as well, with corresponding drop-down menus for bitrate, samplerate, but no option to set channels. Original files are kept intact, but new files are delivered in the same folder, with no option to change this.
On an ending note
Taking everything into account, DP VideoConvert is a pretty straightforward approach on video conversion. File support is decent, and it does offer some specialized settings for several media devices. There’s no preview area, and the conversion process can take a bit of time.
