DSK SF2 Description
A SoundFont document is a file type and also a technology that can play MIDI files by using sample-based synthesis. However, MIDI documents contain no sounds, but only rendering instructions. SoundFont banks that contain custom audio samples can be used to render music by using an appropriate SoundFont player such as DSK SF2.
SoundFont banks are made of PCM-format base samples, loops or vibratos, which are mapped to various sections on musical keyboards. DSK SF2 can help users load these sound banks on their computer and render their music without having to use an external device that supports the SoundFont technology.
However, given that it is a VST plugin, users need to integrate it into a host application in order to benefit from its capabilities entirely. After loading the VST, users can import their SoundFont banks, select sounds and play them. This plugin provides users with auxiliary functions, which include a bank and preset selector, a MIDI channel selector, note control, a Multimode filter, advanced LFO, MIDI automation and note control.
It is also possible to toggle mono mode, enable retriggering, modify the bending range and adjust filter settings such as Cut, Res and Master. If needed, users can modify the LFO waveform and route values by clicking the corresponding buttons.
