Work computers often contain files that require special permission to be accessed. To prevent this, you can have a whole drive locked and only focus on tasks at hand. Easy Drive Lock is a simple but powerful program that allows you to lock the contents of your hard drive, thus preventing other users from accessing it.

Easy to deploy and to use

This is a portable product, so installation is not necessary. Your Windows registry entries will remain intact and you can also place Easy Drive Lock on an external device and run it on any other computer.
The user interface of the program consists of a small window in which you have few but intuitive options. So, all you have to do is select the drive you want to lock, set a password and verify it, and press the "Lock" button.

Lets you quickly accommodate

Evidently, you need to enter the password again if you want to unlock the respective drive. Furthermore, you can use assigned hotkeys (that you cannot change) for these tasks.
The program uses a very low amount of system CPU and memory, and didn't freeze or crash during our tests. It doesn't include a help file but that's because Easy Drive Lock is extremely easy to use, even by novices.

A small word of advise

Additionally, it is advisable you do not reinstall Windows before unlocking all drives and you avoid locking any removable disks (because you need a copy of Easy Drive Lock installed on another computer in order to unlock it).

All in all, Easy Drive Lock is a very good tool that offers a simple solution when it comes to locking drives (although it doesn't come with any kind of configurable settings). You must be very careful when you use it in order to avoid having your data locked away and inaccessible.
