Effector MP3

Written in Adobe Air, Effector MP3 is an approachable software utility that you can use to edit MP3 audio tracks by mixing four sound effectors: highpass, lowpass, delay modulator, and speaker simulator.

Easy setup and GUI

The installation procedure is a fast and simple job that doesn't require special attention. Once it's over, you are welcomed by a user-friendly interface which consists of a large window with a neatly organized structure, showing all main options available.

Enable and adjust the four modules

You can begin by loading an MP3 file, which automatically starts playing. From this point on, all you have to do is click one of the four modules to immediately apply the desired effect, as well as adjust them by moving some colored circles inside the main window.
It's also possible to make a combination out of them, in order to apply multiple effects at the same time. There are no other notable options provided by this software application.
For instance, it doesn't integrate an option for saving the modified audio track to file, nor for controlling audio playback. On top of that, after it stops playing, you have to exit Effector MP3 and launch it again to open a new MP3 file.

Evaluation and conclusion

We haven't come across any stability issues in our tests, thanks to the fact that Effector MP3 didn't hang, crash or display error messages. It had a good response time and minimal impact on computer performance, since it required low CPU and RAM to work properly.
On the other hand, the software tool doesn't implement advanced audio mixing options for expert users. Nevertheless, you can test it for yourself, since it's free.
