Effel's Arabic Dictionary is a lightweight application that provides a database with Arabic words and their translations in English. This tool comes in handy for all users who need to understand the Arabic texts they are reading with minimum effort. Since this is a portable version, you can copy the program on any USB flash drive or other devices, and take it with you whenever you check Arabic word’s meaning.
The user interface is really plain, and there isn’t anything worth mentioning about it, except for the fact that it comprises a built-in search function. The words or expressions can be copied to the Clipboard.
Hotkeys are also available and provide quick access to different sections. You can view details about grammar, such as verb timing and the use of the subjunctive, accusative case, negation, as well as a list with the cardinal numbers.

The developer didn’t include any configuration settings, and this proves to be useful only for beginners who are looking for a simple Arabic to English dictionary. More experienced users may find it pretty inconvenient to work with a program that doesn’t offer audio support for the listed words, for example.
During our testing we have noticed that the program can carry out a task pretty quickly and without errors. As it would be expected from such a small tool, it also manages to remain light on the system resources, so it doesn’t affect the overall performance of your computer.
All things considered, Effel's Arabic Dictionary offers a simple software solution for helping you understand the meaning of Arabic words. It cannot be considered the most powerful tool on the market, as it lacks many advanced features.
