No setup required, besides .NET Framework

You can save the downloaded files in a custom location on the hard disk or copy them to a USB flash drive, in order to directly launch the tool on any computer. However, keep in mind that you must have .NET Framework installed, otherwise it won't run. No new entries are added to the Windows registry as a consequence of using this app, though.

On malware detection, it lists the name, description, risk level, advice and full path of the file in question, giving you the possibility to choose the items you want to remove from the machine. System restart may be necessary to finalize the process, especially if the files are currently being used by Windows.

Evaluation and conclusion

It carried out scan tasks swiftly in our tests while remaining light on system resources consumption. We haven't experienced any compatibility issues, as the application didn't hang, crash or show error dialogs.
On the other hand, it hasn't been updated for a long time and doesn't have the latest virus signatures for detecting newer threats. Nevertheless, ESNet Malware Response Removal Tool gets the job done. Keep in mind that it doesn't offer real-time protection, so you still have to resort to a powerful antivirus solution, unless you already have one.
