ETU Portable

ETU Portable is a lightweight application developed in Java that helps you convert date and time to Epoch (Unix) format. It features a straightforward set of options that can be easily configured, even if you aren't familiarized with this kind of software.

Simple interface for time conversion

It's wrapped in a simple interface made from a small window with a clear-cut structure, split into two parts for separately customizing time and date stamps.
In time stamp mode, you can pick the date, month, year, hour, minute and second from drop-down menus, in order to generate the corresponding Epoch time calculated until the current time.
The values can be restored to default anytime, while the Unix time can be copied to the Clipboard by clicking a button. In date stamp mode, it's possible to enter the Unix time and customize the time and date format, in order to retrieve and copy the date.

No setup required, besides Java

The entire program's packed in an executable .jar file that can be saved in a custom part of the hard drive or copied to a removable storage unit, in order to seamlessly launch ETU Portable on any computer with little effort. Just remember to have Java installed. Other hand that, it doesn't add new entries to the Windows registry or create files on the disk.

Evaluation and conclusion

We haven't experienced any stability issues in our tests, thanks to the fact that the tool didn't freeze, crash or prompt error messages. Although it hasn't been updated for a long time, it ran smoothly on newer Windows models in our tests. It didn't put a strain on the computer's performance either, as it needed a low amount of CPU and memory to work properly.
All in all, ETU Portable delivers a simple solution for generating Epoch time stamps, but it doesn't bring advanced options to the table.
