Expired Cookies Cleaner is a small-sized and portable piece of software that automatically removes expired system cookies from your computer, in order to declutter the drive and free up space. These are stored in Internet Explorer in different files and, since they are expired, they are no longer useful.
The application doesn't implement any kind of options or configuration parameters. It takes care of the whole scanning and removal procedure automatically, without any user intervention.

Initialize scanner and view cookie statistics

All you have to do is click a button to trigger this action. This is a typically speedy task and Expired Cookies Cleaner shows several statistics that you can check out, such as the cookies directory, along with the name and type of each cookie.
At the end of the list you can find out the number of total files, cookies and expired cookies found, removed and optimized files, in addition to the working time.

No installation required, besides IE

This is a portable program, so it doesn't need to be installed. It only requires that you have Internet Explorer set up, since that's the browser it removes cookies from. Unfortunately, it doesn't integrate support for other browsers as well, such as Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome.

Evaluation and conclusion

Everything worked smoothly in our tests, thanks to the fact that the utility didn't freeze, crash or display error messages. As expected, it didn't hog system resources, as it needed low CPU and RAM to work properly.
Too bad that it doesn't feature any options, like letting you examine the cookies and selecting the ones you want to remove while keeping the rest safe. We must also keep in mind that Expired Cookies Cleaner hasn't been updated for a long time.
