ExposurePlot Description

Cameras have greatly evolved throughout the years along with technology, providing more and more features, as well as better techniques for crystal-clear pictures and various effects to apply. An important part of the camera is the lens used, with applications like ExposurePlot giving you the possibility to analyze your picture collection to determine what types of lens are best.

Part of a bigger picture

One thing that needs to be mentioned is that the application stopped receiving updates some time ago, but can still be put to good use. This is because it is now part of a bigger, more powerful project, namely Wega2.

Quickly finds all pictures in your computer

The application sports a simple interface, but well-organized so that you quickly get the hang of it. A side panel lets you find any file or folder on your computer or narrow down the analysis process to a custom directory.
Hitting the “Start analyzing” button looks up any JPG file it can find on your computer in order to gather corresponding EXIF data. If you only want to use it on several images, you need to gather them up in a folder and only select it for analysis, with no other search options at your disposal. There is a filter function, but it is dedicated to camera make and model.

Generate and save various graphs

Based on gathered EXIF data, the application generates several graphs in the blink of an eye. These can all be viewed in an overview tab, with the possibility to switch to dedicated ones for better analysis. Bars help you determine the most efficient lens you used to take analyzed pictures, by displaying values for focal length usage, ISO exposure, aperture, as well as shutter speed.
Generated graphs are pretty intuitive in design, with an option to toggle a 3D view. What's more, you can zoom in and out or move the whole graph using your mouse. In addition, the application lets you save data under a BMP format.

In conclusion

Taking everything into consideration, we can say that ExposurePlot puts your collection of pictures under the scope and lets you determine which lens better suit your shooting style by analyzing EXIF data which is cleverly presented in graphs. Although it might feel a little rough around the edges, it can save you time and money when upgrading your camera or purchasing new lens.
