Extreme Messenger for AIM is a tool that helps you tweak the popular AIM instant messenger and add or remove certain features of the application.
With a very intuitive and easy to use interface, Extreme Messenger for AIM offers multiple customization tools, all of which are supposed to enhance the chatting experience when using AIM.
For example, you can change AIM's layout by aligning tabs to left or right, position tabs to top or bottom, use yellow arrows or color tab background every time you receive an IM notification.
Additionally, Extreme Messenger for AIM comes with dedicated options to use multiple tab rows, keep IMs always on top and even hide buddy list ads for a bit cleaner chatting experience. You're allowed for instance to hide buddy list banner, hide buttons on first and second row, hide buddy list menu bar or hide screen name and button.
What's more, you can configure alerts for new received messages, with Extreme Messenger for AIM providing separate options for popping up IM messages in a certain area on the screen.
Last but not least, you can enable Alert Words, which are separate sound and visual alerts sent to you every time a contact responds with one of the user-defined words.
It's no surprise that Extreme Messenger for AIM works very well on most Windows versions, but it fails to start on Windows 7, even when launched with administrator privileges.
