Fast Shutdown Description
Fast Shutdown is a versatile application that can shut down your computer faster than Windows can. It works both in GUI and command line mode, which makes it accessible to a wide array of audiences.
Typically, Windows tends to overcomplicate things during a shutdown operation especially when you have multiple applications up and running.
The length of a shutdown operation can vary, one of the major factors being the number of processes that are currently running, as well as the performance and the health of the computer.
If you want a faster way to turn off the computer, Fast Shutdown can provide one for you. We’re talking about an ultra quick method to achieve the operation, but at the cost of some consequences such as losing the data you haven’t saved.
The program puts three major operations at your disposal, namely: a fast shutdown, which can turn off a computer in three seconds or less, a fast restart that reboots the computer rapidly and an instant shutdown, which is by far, the quickest way to halt your system.
Despite the speed of the latter method, you’ll be taking a huge risk – of losing any data that you haven’t stored or saved, which at times, can be a huge price to pay.
Alternatively, you can also use it from command line inside scripts or for development purposes.
Overall, Fast Shutdown makes a good impression. We’ll have to be honest and admit that those three seconds that the program promises for a shutdown operation isn’t a realistic approximation. It surpasses Windows’ abilities, but not to that extent.
