File Attributes Editor Description
File Attributes Editor is a lightweight Windows software solution developed to modify the timestamp and attributes of user-defined files.
It's almost impossible to get lost in the main window with such a plain and simple design at your disposal, even though a help section is not available.
Still, the GUI is very intuitive, so it's pretty obvious from the very beginning that you have to select the files you want to edit.
You can select as many files as you want and change their attributes straight from the main window, with available options including system, read-only, hidden and archive. What's more, you can change modified and created date for each displayed file.
However, if you want to change the timestamp for multiple files at the same time, there's a batch utility included in the program too, letting you tweak both the modified and the created time.
Other than that, File Attributes Editor remains a very basic piece of software, so it's no wonder that it works like a charm on all Windows versions. Administrator privileges are however required when launching it on Windows 7 workstations, especially if you try to change the attributes of system-protected items.
All things considered, File Attributes Editor is quite a handy program, despite the fact that it's available in such a lightweight package. It doesn't provide a help section, but its intuitive options makes everything easy as pie for all user categories.
