Find Shared Folders Description

Find Shared Folders is a very easy to use Windows software solution that helps you discover the shared folders on your network with minimum configuration options.
One of the best things about Find Shared Folders is that it’s very easy to use, mostly thanks to its straightforward interface that groups all options in the same window.
Users are prompted to input the IP range to scan, with dedicated fields for the beginning and the ending IP and two different options, namely scan only one host or hide special shares.
The rest of the main window is being used to display the shared folders found in the user-defined IP range.
A major drawback is the fact that users aren’t allowed to open the detected folders from the app, so instead you just have to launch Windows Explorer and navigate to the specific IP in order to access the folder content.
What’s more, it doesn’t show the station’s IP, but only the hostname, which again could make the whole folder accessing task more difficult.
On the other hand, Find Shared Folders doesn’t slow down the system at all and usually completes the scanning process in just a few seconds. A reasonable CPU usage is experienced during the scan, but nothing too critical to affect the overall performance of the machine.
The conclusion is rather simple: Find Shared Folders is a handy piece of software, although it’s pretty clear that it lacks lots of important features. It serves its purpose very easy though and requires only minimum configuration before starting the scan for shared folders.
