FindURL automatically detects resource URLs on a visited website, giving you the possibility to download audio, video, image, text and Flash content.
This software application has a built-in browser and customizable filters. It doesn't require plugins or drivers, and it doesn't affect your browser's performance.

Simple installation and UI

The setup procedure is fast and shouldn't give you any trouble. It's wrapped in a clean and intuitive interface, which consists of a large window with buttons for detecting audio, video, image, text, Flash content or all, as well as for setting up filters to look only for particular types of files, such as .mp3, .avi or .jpg.

Sniff websites for content to download

After entering the website URL in the dedicated box, you can start the sniffing operation. This triggers FindURL to open a second window with the loaded webpage, which gets automatically scanned.
Depending on the content type selected, it reveals the description, format and size of each object, enabling you to visit its link in your default browser and to copy the URL.
Unfortunately, the program doesn't integrate an option for downloading content from the specified links. It lets you pick a different UI language, refresh identified content, pause or stop the sniffing task, and clear the list.

Evaluation and conclusion

It didn't put a strain on the overall performance of the computer in our tests, running on low CPU and RAM. Website sniffing operations were carried out rapidly, and the tool didn't cause the operating system to hang, crash or prompt error messages.
However, FindURL doesn't come equipped with options for downloading content from identified URLs, so you have to rely on other tools for this action, or use the built-in browser buttons. Nevertheless, you can test it for yourself.
