Fix Shortcuts

Fix Shortcuts is a simple-to-use application that scans the computer for broken shortcuts (e.g. not linked to any program, file or folder) and deletes them, in order to declutter the hard disk.
The installation procedure is done in no time and contains options which are common to most simple apps. The program is wrapped in a user-friendly interface, consisted of a window split into two panels.
So, all you have to do is select one or more drives (select-all and select-none buttons are available) and start scanning them with the click of a button. When the task is completed, Fix Shortcuts pops up a message dialog with total found broken shortcuts.
The results list displays the shortcut name along with the full path and new target path. A manual fix-up implies selecting a new file and folder to relink the respective shortcut to. The automatic procedure simply eliminates all selected items.
The intuitive piece of software does not take a long time to finish a job, during which it uses low CPU and RAM. It is very responsive to commands and does not cause the operating system to hang, crash or pop up error messages. We have not come across this kind of problems in our testing.
However, the tool failed in its attempt to delete multiple shortcuts during our evaluation. Other than that, it provides a fast solution to delete broken shortcuts as well as to assign them to new apps, and it caters to all types of users.
