Fixed Player

Fixed Player is a simple YouTube video player that enables you to enjoy online videos while working or playing, without having to use a web browser.

Paste the YouTube video URL to watch

Delivered inside a very lightweight package, the application does not require installation. Moreover, there are no configuration options to deal with, so usage should pose no problems.
Its main window is simplistic, consisting of a text field where you must enter the video URL manually or paste it. As simple as that may be, not having a search option to look for a video using keywords is an important drawback, since you must use a browser to copy and paste the video URL. It would be good to have both options available and use the one you need.
Pressing the 'Play' button opens a small window near the system tray that stays on top of all the other opened windows, enabling you to watch the video while doing something else.

Fully-functional YouTube player

Fixed Player displays a fully-functional, standard YouTube playback window, comprising basic playback controls (play / pause), the video duration and volume adjustment functionality, as well as options to watch the video in full screen. Furthermore, you can open the video in your default browser and resume the playback there.
The player can be opened in multiple instances. However, the second video is displayed on top of the first, so you must move the playback window to one of the four screen corners using the dedicated option, so as to be able to watch both clips. Having a second video open in another corner from the beginning would be a benefit.

Enjoy watching YouTube videos without interrupting work

Fixed Player has a lot of potential, aiming to make working sessions more enjoyable. It enables you to take a glimpse at your favorite music videos while working, without having to switch window focus or access the YouTube tab.
However, it would be a good idea to add searching capabilities alongside URL pasting and provide options for customizing the default on-screen position of the playback window, placing it wherever the user wants, not just in one of the four corners.
