Fixres Description
Media Boxes running DMI to a TV sometimes have trouble setting the proper resolution after boot up.
Fixres will launch after you boot, wait a few seconds then will change the screen resolution, this way solving the problem.
From the producers page
I have two media boxes.
Box #1 runs SnapStream (Beyond TV)
Box #2 runs DVICO Fusion USB (HDTV Tuner)
I have one TV a Vizio 32 inch LCD
Now to get these two machines to display on the same TV one has to use the standard VGA inputs (Box #1, Beyond TV) and the other uses the HDMI inputs (Box #2, DVICO).
Both box #1 and #2 have ATI graphics cards.
Box #1 works flawlessly using the standard VGA inputs.
Box #2 looses its resolution everytime the machine is rebooted thus defaulting to 640x480 (and thats not good).
The way Box #2 is connected to the TV (this is kinda hinky):
DVI out (from the graphics card) -> DVI to HDMI adapter -> HDMI Cable -> TV
So the reason may be, the graphics card gets confused and cant detect the TV properly (or another possibility is ATI has a bug in the driver... shhh).
This program runs after your machine boots and logs in to windows and resets the proper resolution.
To configure just run:
FixRes.exe
To run in the automated mode:
FixRes.exe /res
Requirements:
ï¿ Requires .NET v2
ï¿ Uses standard Windows API to change the screen resolution so it will work with any graphics adapter.
ï¿ Best used in Windows 2000/XP/2003 enviroments
