FldrSize Description
FldrSize is a small-sized and portable Windows app with a very simple, yet practical function: it displays the total size of all subfolders originating from a selected directory.
It does not comprise complicated options or configuration parameters, so it can be handled by all types of users, even the ones with little or no experience in software applications.
Portability perks
Since there is no installation involved, you can put the program files in any part of the hard disk and just click the executable to run.
There is also the possibility to save FldrSize to a USB flash drive or similar storage unit, in order to run it on any PC with minimum effort and no prior installers.
What's more, the tool does not create new entries in the Windows registry or Start menu, leaving the disk clean after removal.
Straightforward interface
The GUI is made from a single window with an intuitive structure, where you can point out a folder by using the tree view only, since the drag-and-drop feature is not supported.
The main frame shows the size of each containing folder. In addition, you can change the size measurement unit. However, there are no other notable options provided by this software app. For example, there is no function to save the folder list to an external file for closer inspection.
FldrSize does not put a strain on computer performance, as it uses low CPU and RAM. We have not come across any problems throughout our evaluation, as the tool did not hang, crash or pop up error dialogs.
Conclusion
Although it integrates only a handful of basic options, FldrSize gets the job done and accurately displays folder sizes.
