Floating Clock

Floating Clock is a feather-light application that displays a small clock on the desktop, which can be asked to stay on top of other windows.
It can be used if your system built-in clock is faulty or if you're just looking for a replacement. There are no advanced customization settings available.

Simple setup and interface

The installation operation is a speedy and simple task, thanks to the fact that there are no special options, prerequisite software products, or third-party offers bundled with the setup kit.
Once launched, Floating Clock shows a horizontal bar with a white background and black text, revealing the current time in 12-hour clock, namely the hours, minutes and seconds.

Set the text color and stay-on-top preference

Unfortunately, there are no settings integrated for personalizing the font type, or the background color. On the other hand, you can pick any preferred color for the text from the color spectrum.
The frame can be placed anywhere on the screen with the help of the mouse cursor, and it stays on top of the windows of other running programs by default. This can be disabled from the right-click menu.
Apart from the fact that it can be minimized to the lower-left corner of the screen, right above the taskbar to make it non-intrusive and let you carry on with your normal desktop activity without distractions, there are no other notable options provided by this program.

Evaluation and conclusion

It worked smoothly in our evaluation, without triggering the operating system to hang, crash or show errors. System resources usage was minimal, as it needed a low amount of CPU and RAM to function normally. Too bad that Floating Clock hasn't received updates for a long time. It contains a pretty light set of features.
