FLV to MPEG Description
FLV to MPEG is an application with a title that pretty much explains its functionality - it allows you to convert video clips from the FLV format to the MPEG extension.
The interface of the software is simplistic and easy to work with. You can import media files into the list by using the file browser only, because the "drag and drop" method is not supported. Batch processing is allowed but you can only import one video at a time.
In the list you can check out the name, size and output file of each video. After you specify the output profile (MP4, Xvid, DVD, Sony PSP) and destination folder, you can proceed with the encoding process by pressing the "Convert" button.
During this time you can view a progress bar (a message pops up when the conversion is finished). Furthermore, you can remove an item from the list.
The video encoding application takes a reasonable amount of time to complete a task while using a very small quantity of system CPU and memory. No errors have popped up during our tests and FLV to MPEG did not freeze or crash. The image and sound are preserved at a very good quality. There is no help file available but that's because FLV to MPEG is extremely easy to use.
On the other hand, you cannot configure any kind of audio and video settings (e.g. frame rate, aspect ratio, channels, volume, sampling rate) along with program options (e.g. enable FLV to MPEG to automatically turn off the computer or open the output directory after conversion). Even so, we recommend FLV to MPEG to all users who prefer a straightforward tool, mainly novices.
