Folder Monitor Description
Folder Monitor is an easy-to-use software utility capable of monitoring any selected directories in the computer, in order to take notes of any changes. It features several advanced, yet intuitive settings that should be easy to figure out.
Simple and clear-cut interface
The interface doesn't contain any visually appealing elements, but it is quite simple to navigate. You can use an embedded folder viewer to explore disk directories and select one whose files or subfolders to monitor.
View data and tinker with folder monitoring settings
You can check out the total number of subdirectories and files, open the path's location in Windows Explorer, ask the tool to monitor files only or folders only instead of both (depending on your preferences), play sound alerts, loop audio, and show messages on important events.
Apart from the fact that you can stop and reset the program's settings to start again from scratch, there are no other noteworthy options available here.
Evaluation and conclusion
There were no kind of stability issues in our tests, thanks to the fact that Folder Monitor did not freeze, crash or prompt error messages. It left a small impact on computer performance, since it needed low CPU and RAM to work properly.
Unfortunately, the interface is outdated and the tool does not feature too many advanced settings. Nevertheless, it can prove to be a reliable assistant for folder watching, so you can definitely give it a shot to see whether it meets your requirements or not.
