Free 3D Video Maker Description
With a self-explanatory name, Free 3D Video Maker is a simple piece of software that allows you to create three-dimensional videos from one or two source files.
Before you get all excited, you should really know that this is not exactly a groundbreaking app, or advanced, for that matter. Basically, this utility only offers you the possibility to overlap two videos and, apart from a few simple filters, not much more.
Humdrum app that sports an unimpressive yet functional UI, and various novice-accessible tools
With this in mind, it almost goes without saying that if you really want to create 3D videos, you will have to provide the app with two, almost identical videos, captured with a little horizontal shift. There's also the option to make a 3D using just one source video, but the results are disappointing, to say the least.
Other than that, the app's not that bad. The interface is not exactly impressive, but at least it's quite intuitive and working with the app should pose no problems. To get started, load either the Left or the Right videos, or both, choose the algorithm from the lower-left drop-down menu, choose the output location, and hit the Make 3D! button, and that's about it.
Simplistic set of adjacent options
Of course, you can opt to preview your video before you actually create it and also fiddle about with a small set of features in the Options menu. For instance, you can select the video codec, the language and enable or disable features like "Align Images to Center" and "Keep Aspect Ration."
Before we conclude, you might also find the options available from the contextual menu to be quite useful. By right-clicking the upper part of the main window, you are provided with info about both the source and the output videos, and you can also choose from various, simplistic display modes.
Not quite a 3D video maker, more like a video utility for video overlapping
At the end of the day, though, Free 3D Video Maker's usefulness really depends on your expectations. It's quite clear that it's not a 3D video maker in the actual sense of the word, but rather a simple video app that allows you to overlap videos which, with a lot of work, might help render some close-to-decent 3D results.
