The program is very basic, with a simple and unimpressive interface. It has quite a limited number of functions, so it is hard to think that this application could compete with other audio players, let alone multimedia players that nowadays provide support for all types of audio and video formats.
Nonetheless, if you are looking for an application that only offers minimal functions, then Free CD Player is for you. Once you load the CD, you can launch this application and it will instantly start rendering the songs on your disc, in their normal order.
Since Free CD Player does not offer you the ability to adjust the volume of the songs you are listening to, make sure to turn it down from the system tray, just to be sure your eardrums will not suffer a shock when the music starts playing.
The application allows you to 'Play' or 'Pause' the CD, play the 'Next' or the 'Previous' track, 'Stop' the music or 'Eject' the disc. Additionally, you can press the 'List' button that will reveal a drop-down menu featuring all the songs on your CD.
However, this is basically everything you can do with Free CD Player. You will not be able to play the songs in any other order than the one they were burnt onto the disc. As previously mentioned, you cannot change the volume, nor can you see the title of the currently playing file. Moreover, you cannot skip a few seconds ahead or jump back to a specific part of the song.
To conclude, Free CD Player is a simple audio track player designed to render the music on your CDs, and while it performs this function without an issue, it offers little else in addition.
