Free Easy Image Converter Description
Images can be found under various different formats, depending on the resources used to bundle all details together. Some support extra layers, or transparency, while other simply display an image. Depending on the demands you need to meet, specialized applications like Free Easy Image Converter can help you pick the right format for an image.
Extra attention when installing
It doesn’t take a lot of time to get the application installed on your computer. However, you need to pay extra attention to every “Next†button you press, or terms and conditions you accept, or you risk having other third-party components you don’t necessarily want, or need installed as well.
All the application has to offer is stored in a clean interface. Sadly, it’s pretty compact, with no option to resize, even if you attempt to drag the edges around. This delivers a considerable blow to overall practicality, because pictures are not automatically fitted to the preview area, so unless you don’t need preview, or work with small images, you’re not able to get a look at the entire picture in the preview area before conversion.
Decent file support, but no batch processing
File support is decent, with the application letting you load formats like EMF, EXIF, GIF, ICO, JPG, PNG, TIF, and WMF for both import, and export operations. Unfortunately, adding a picture needs to be done through the built-in browse dialog, because dropping them over the window has no effect, nor does it create a context menu option for instant conversion.
To make matters worse, you’re only able to convert one picture at a time. This easily becomes frustrating because processing multiple files becomes a pretty time-consuming task. Moreover, quality tweaks, or effects need to be handled in a different editor, because there are no such options here.
A few last words
Taking everything into consideration, Free Easy Image Converter does support a decent variety of picture formats, thus providing some degree of flexibility. However, it fails to deliver the practicality needed to handle multiple pictures at a time, with a time-consuming conversion operation, and disappointing preview area.
