Free Video Cutter serves to helps users cut out a selection of any video clip inside an intuitive and friendly environment. The output can be saved to wherever the user desires.
Such an application can be of great assistance when there is a need to cut a chunk out of a large file in order to email or upload it to YouTube, for instance. The precision of the cut is entirely up to the user, since the beginning and end values can be freely chosen in several ways.
Following a short and complication-free installation process, a shortcut is placed on the desktop for easy access. The main window, which sports a somewhat simple, yet intuitive appearance, displays a few tips on how to get the process going.
The program can handle only one video at a time, which can be added to the processing area using the ‘Add’ button or via drag and drop. Once the video has been loaded, the program will display it in the center of the GUI, with the possibility to play it.
The selection for the output clip can be done in two different ways: the first one is done with the aid of the built-in sliders that allow you to move them to the positions that mark the beginning and the end of the cut; the second one allows you to manually input the time values for both these limits.
All that remains to be done at this point is to choose the destination folder and export the video, with the observation that the output file will preserve the format of the original clip.
All in all, Free Video Cutter does carry out the task, but compared to the competition, it lacks in a few aspects. Similar products often sport editing features, which we have not seen in Free Video Cutter.
